August 2025 saw my first duo exhibition – alongside my friend Sue Envill. Titled ‘Burnished’, it took place at Comunn Eachdraidh Nis, in Ness, where we both live.
In this exhibition, I showed three areas of my work. My mono prints (each one unique, as the name suggests) were created with printing inks on sheets of fine tissue paper. My series of collaged boards – created from mono-printed papers – are my response to the vertiginous gneiss cliffs at the Butt of Lewis. Finally, my photographic art series, ‘Fliuch’ (meaning wet in Gaelic), includes pieces of semi-abstract digital photography, alongside experimental camera-less images - cyanotypes and water-grams.
The exhibition was very successful and resulted in a number of sales of larger pieces. I hope it might become a regular event!
