January 2026 – an intense period!
As you will have seen in my last newsflash, I’m now deep in the Bridge House winter course. I’m really loving the intensity of the experience, the expert tuition and my wonderful fellow-students (ten women, all amazing!). In Term 1, we studied still life, drawing, charcoal, oil and acrylic painting, printing, artists’ books, paper sculptures and much more. October 2025 - A New Direction!
I’m delighted to have been accepted on the Winter Course at Bridge House Art - a small, independent art school in the north west highlands of Scotland, which offers a rich and varied programme of courses in the visual arts. This means that I am living in Ullapool from end October 2025 ‘til early March 2026. September 2025 – A Summer Course
This September I decamped for a few days to Ullapool, to take part in a fantastic course, ‘Out of this Earth’, run by acclaimed fibre artist Claire Benn and held at Bridge House Art . The course was designed to introduce us to an ecological method of binding natural earth, mineral and synthetic pigments to textiles or paper using soya milk. August 2025 - 'Burnished' Exhibition
August 2025 saw my first duo exhibition – alongside my friend Sue Envill. Titled ‘Burnished’, it took place at Comunn Eachdraidh Nis, in Ness, where we both live. In this exhibition, I showed three areas of my work. My mono prints (each one unique, as the name suggests) were created with printing inks on sheets of fine tissue paper. My series of collaged boards – created from mono-printed papers – are my response to the vertiginous gneiss cliffs at the Butt of Lewis. Finally,
